World News B February 8th, 2008: Final class!

1. What did you learn in this class this semester?

I learned in this class, how to blog that summary of the key points, we should use some color to make read easier and put the URL of the quoted article or picture on blog, how to exploit blogs, and how to collect information with internet to write my opinions or answers.

I liked World News class. I learned to consider about articles which I collected before I put it on my blog and how to put together my thoughts over lot of materials in this semester. I thought that we can get many kind of articles on each incident but it is difficult to find out correct information so have to consider about these which information do I need is.

2. What is the purpose, objective, of a newspaper company?
Visual is important for Television company. But newspaper company subject and occurrence of news, it is based on journalism. We can read newspaper anytime, everywhere.

3. What is the purpose, objective, of a television company?
Television company purpose and objective is that inform news with animation, live broadcast and VTR. Television can inform news flash at once. And television provide entertainment.

4. What is the purpose, objective of Yahoo! or Google?
Yahoo provides a wide array of internet services that cater to most online activities. Yahoo offers diversified services it provides vertical search services such as Yahoo! Image, Yahoo! Video,Yahoo! News, and Yahoo! Shopping Search. Yahoo provides internet communication services such as Yahoo mail. Yahoo introduced its Internet search system.

5. The purpose of all the above is to make money. That is the purpose of all these businesses. How do they make money? By getting as many readers or viewers (”eyeballs”) as possible. If their purpose is to get as many readers or viewers or “eyeballs” as possible, then what kind of news will they publish? Give 2 or 3 examples.
These use actors, news that gossips, politics and restaurant information and so on, lot of kind of entertainment to get eyeballs, and let viewers use money. And they get money to put advertisement of company in home-pages.

First photo is look square was crowded with people but second photo was taken far from square and surrounding was not crowded. Both pictures are same place but gave us completely different image .I thought news is dependent on picture.

We have to know the truth to make good country. Newspaper must not tell a lie to people because it has huge influential. And Journalism has to watch big power like government, politician and police to people live freely and peaceful..

I read a news : 2 women die once a day by violence in Guatemala. Guatemala is dominated by drugs and gang and women lives there with fear. The women set up soccer team to escape the fear and protect their human rights. Supervision planed to shoot the soccer team’s documentary and he got permission that shooting the documentary from the gangs.
During the film shooting he stayed Guatemala to make with some friends. This film changed women’ life to be good, they are gradually becoming live freely. The county problem is not AIDS, the big was violence.

On 11th November 1918, to signal the end of World War One. After end of the war, there was complete advastation and everything disappeared. Where once there were homes and farms there was now a sea of mud - a grave for the dead where man still lived and fough. Only one other living things survived. It was poppy. Then John McCrea scribbled down the poem "In Flanders Fields". It was the poppy things. The poem published. And the poppy became a popular symbol for soldier who dead in battle.

I want school campus to be bigger. A dining room in particular.
My hometown has many restaurants and bar. These are cause of noise. Roads are dirty by the drunk customers. So I hope my home town to be clean.

Japanese dose not treasure traditional structures. Some Japanese scrawl graffiti on traditional structures. When I visited Byoudouin I was feel bad with the graffiti. So I hope Japanese stop scrawling

1. What do you like about your school?
My favorite points about my chool are I can study comfortably and meet my freinds.

2. What do you not like about your school?
A school building is small. A dining room in particular.

3. What do you like about your hometown?
My hometown has many kinds of supermarket and department store, movie theater and restaurant so Fuse is very easy to live.

4. What do you not like about your hometown?
There are many restaurants and car so air is bad and evrytime noisy even midnight.

5. What do you like about Japan and Japanese people?
Japanese people likes new things and good at devise new things. And Japanese do not have much concern with whatever own history. And Japanese food is very nice.

Recently Japanese musics are imitation of America.

1.How many blog posts have you written this semester?
I have witten 16 blog posts this semester.

2. Which news item that you wrote about was the most surprising?
I think this is a national emergency. I did not know Aboriginy is such a bad native Australian.      Prime Minister John Howard was responding to a report that found sexual abuse of children to be rampant in indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. The report said the abuse was fueled by endemic alcohol abuse, unemployment, poverty and other factors causing a breakdown in traditional society.

3. Which news item that you wrote about was the strangest or the most interesting?
About Tanabata festivals are held in many country. The most famous Tanabata festival is held in Sendai. A Tanabata festival is also held in SaoPaulo, Brazil around the first weekend of July.
This is the most interesting things for me.

4.What do you want to focus on next semester?
I want to focus on to read a novel next semester. So Ihave to learn 9000 words.
